Drawing inspiration from nostalgic Americana—including the timeless elegance of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr.’s wedding, the classic sensibility of Ralph Lauren and the inviting warmth of a Nancy Meyers film—Alyssa Estrada of Elle and James Co. curated an editorial that evoked an upscale family estate gathering. Captured beautifully by Jacqueline Benét Photography, the setting was the historic Admiral’s House, overlooking Elliott Bay with sweeping vistas of the Seattle skyline.
The intimate ceremony and reception felt more like a cherished family dinner party than a formal affair. Focused on savoring the day slowly and intentionally, the couple began their morning together at the venue, enjoying quiet coffee time before separating to get ready—preserving a sense of calm while still building anticipation for the ceremony. The bride wore a structured pleated gown by Elie Saab and changed into a playful Ines Di Santo mini dress for the reception.
Teressa Johnson dreamed up stunning floral arrangements, including a ceremony arch set at the end of a winding aisle. Reception tables echoed the natural florals and layered textures with linens, woven textiles and warm metallics. Pleated lamps were placed throughout the scheme as a subtle nod to the bride’s gown, adding dimension and charm. Even the cake, crafted by Kenna Giuzio Cakes, was a custom creation inspired by the dress, mirroring its pleated aesthetic and graceful form—a sweet ending to a day full of elegance, intention and heart.
