Angie Mykel and Richard Spicer

Ceremony and reception:
ACT, A Contemporary Theatre
After four years of dating and a Disneyworld proposal, Angie Mykel, 34, the general manager at the Lynnwood Convention Center and a self-proclaimed lover of all things steampunk, and Richard Spicer, 36, a history major, began planning their Seattle nuptials as a tribute to the steam-powered science fiction genre. The Magnolia couple schemed up a wedding day packed full of personalized, one-of-a-kind details, starting with the moment guests were greeted with a “Fire Cider” signature cocktail—a blend of sparkling cider and Fireball cinnamon whisky in honor of autumn—in a private lobby of downtown Seattle’s ACT, A Contemporary Theatre. After a special moment set aside for a first look with her dad, Angie walked down the aisle to the Jaws theme song on a hand-painted aisle runner, which had been covered in famous quotes about love. “I could hear laughter coming from the crowd,” the bride reminisces. “Let’s just say I have a thing for villains.”
