Lauren and Chris bonded over their shared passions: animals, the great outdoors and the joy found in life’s simplest moments. Their intimate wedding at Treehouse Point reflected those sensibilities, embracing the wild romance of the forested surroundings for an autumn celebration rooted in authenticity and family togetherness.
A string quartet set the ceremony to music, playing the soaring soundtracks from some of the couple’s favorite films, including Star Wars and The Princess Bride. They stood beneath towering evergreens to exchange their personalized vows, each honoring their heritage in their own way: Lauren affixed an Irish brooch to her bouquet, while Chris wore a full traditional Scottish kilt ensemble. His daughter, Kaylee, helped perform a Scottish handfasting ceremony to symbolize their new life as a blended family.
Whimsical floral arrangements featured greenery and a mix of blooms in white and autumnal hues. Shades of sage and moss green were paired with warm neutrals and hints of copper, while raw-edged wooden furniture complemented the natural scenery.
Rather than sharing a traditional first dance as husband and wife, the couple opted for a family dance instead—a special choreographed routine the three of them learned together. An unexpected atmospheric river tried to dampen the fun with wind and rain; however, Lauren and Chris remained unconcerned. “It ultimately became part of the magic,” they said. Guests sipped warm cider and stayed cozy in blankets under the stars, spending the evening savoring not only the forest’s stunning beauty, but also the power of lasting love. —Diane Meyer
