This deep-toned Halloween wedding brought the holiday into every part of the celebration, from a scavenger hunt in the garden to a spooky send-off. Before guests arrived, Paige, a digital creator in the gaming space, and Dylan, a platform engineer in the gaming industry, took photos with their wedding party at Seattle’s Corson Building.
Gayle of Belles + Whistles added a Halloween focal point to the venue’s circular garden, where a leaping mermaid sculpture holds a broken seashell. Her floral design made it look as though the mermaid were lifting a skull from the garden, with moss and dark roses around it and a red uplight.
At the welcome table, a gold skeleton named Skelly greeted guests. Moths appeared to emerge from its mouth and chest, and guests received cameras to document the celebration before returning them to a “Return of Souls” basket beside the skeleton. Candlelight and custom lighting complemented the dark florals, while Halloween figures and motifs appeared throughout the decor.
Friends and family gathered for the afternoon ceremony. After the vows, cocktail hour began with drinks and a scavenger hunt created by the groom. Ray, Gayle’s husband and a concrete contractor, made gold concrete skulls for the game. Hidden throughout the gardens behind wrought-iron gates, the skulls held gaming trivia and clues on their undersides; one contained the winning prize. As Paige and Dylan posed for family photos, their wedding team repurposed the ceremony flowers for the reception.
The newlyweds and their wedding party made a grand entrance before dinner. Dessert and toasts from the maid of honor and best man followed, then the bride and groom shared their first dance and danced with their parents before open dancing began.
The evening ended with a sweet and spooky send-off: an incredible fitting end to a mystical day.
