Love Story: Moody Romance at Four Seasons Seattle

Bathed in crimson draping and candlelight, Reneille and Brian’s winter wedding transformed the luxe Four Seasons Hotel Seattle ballroom into an immersive experience of love and tradition. Floor-to-ceiling red velvet softened the scale of the space, while crystal chandeliers flickered overhead, casting warm light across black tabletops, ivory seating and hundreds of glowing candles in saturated shades of garnet. The effect was a moody and romantic vibe—a reflection of the couple’s January date and their “Shades of Love” dress code, which invited guests to dress in red with touches of black.

As the owner of Seattle-based Gian Events, Reneille approached the design with a planner’s eye for atmosphere. Oversized fabric swags stretched dramatically across the ceiling and converged above a circular white dance floor where the ceremony took place beneath sculptural arches wrapped in soft ivory fabric. Clusters of red roses lined the stage- like setting, later reappearing at the sweetheart table in lush arrangements that spilled onto the floor among glowing glass hurricanes. Even the custom ice luge carried the couple’s “R&B” monogram, a nod to their shared initials and their love of early-2000s R&B music, which became the soundtrack for the evening.

Hidden within the striking palette was a playful detail guests might not have realized: the wedding’s red, white and black color story was inspired by a Pokéball. Brian had proposed in Paris with Reneille’s ring tucked inside one, and the couple threaded the reference throughout the celebration. Personal touches continued into dinner service with Filipino pandesal tucked into bread baskets, and the traditional Filipino money dance closing out the night in joyful fashion. --Megan Simpson Teeter
