Fun-loving and sporty couple Nicole and Garrett were married on a bright spring day at The Woodmark Hotel. The bride, an equestrian, and the groom, a former rower, said “I do” beneath a luxe floral altar, with Lake Washington sparkling in the background. It was also at the altar that they shared their first look. (While getting ready, the groom needed assistance with his bowtie, so he wore a blindfold while Nicole helped so as not to spoil the big reveal.)
After their emotional ceremony, the couple slipped away for a private boat cruise together. Back on land, guests sipped champagne surrounded by stunning arrangements of bleeding heart, spirea, delphinium, sweet pea, archangel foliage and maidenhair fern, mingling with albino anemones, lisianthus, peonies, roses, ranunculus and snowball viburnum. Cool shades of green balanced rich ivory, while touches of rattan added warmth and texture.
In a subtle nod to Nicole’s love of horseback riding, place cards featured gold horse-bit details. For pint-sized guests, kids’ tables were covered with custom drawing paper and heaped with crayons and crazy straws to help keep them entertained. A particular favorite among partygoers of all ages, however, was the ranch dressing fountain, which, of course, required the perfect late-night treats for dipping. —Diane Meyer
