Corsetry took many forms at New York Bridal Fashion Week for Fall 2027. Designers brought structure into focus with sculpted bodices, lace-up backs, defined basque waists and corsets styled as separate pieces. Some gowns feature explicitly named corsets or inner corsetry; others use corset-inspired shaping to create a defined silhouette.
Across the collections, that structure meets romantic lace, full skirts and fluid satin. The result is a range of corset wedding dresses that feel both considered and expressive, from a sharply defined bodice to a styling piece that changes the shape of a gown.
Sculpted waists and structured bodices
In WONÁ Concept’s Maison Blanche collection collection, Palette and Melle use defined basque waists to shape full skirts. Verdin New York’s Petal brings a sculpted lace bodice to a similarly defined waist, while Guillermo Pharis’s Jane pairs a corset-style bodice with a sweeping skirt. Together, these gowns show how a structured waist can shape very different silhouettes.

Corsets as separates and styling pieces
Some gowns make corsetry visible through separate styling, lace-up backs or added layers. WONÁ Atelier’s Prime from the Atelier Heritage Edition is a corset-and-skirt look, while WONÁ Concept’s Amarant and Comet show structured bodices with full skirts. Hera Couture’s separate Fleur corset is styled over Lucille and Dahlia, adding definition to two different gowns.

Prime from WONÁ Atelier’s Atelier Heritage Edition separates a structured corset from its skirt for a modern two-piece bridal look.

The Amarant gown from WONÁ Concept’s Maison Blanche collection pairs a strapless sweetheart neckline and lace with an overskirt that changes the look’s shape and volume.

The Comet gown from WONÁ Concept’s Maison Blanche collection brings lace and Mikado together at a defined basque waist.

Hera Couture’s Lucille gown is paired with the separate Fleur Corset which defines the waist above a softly gathered skirt. Both are part of the AW/27 Defiant Renaissance collection.

Hera Couture’s Dahlia gown is a fluid satin slip that can be styled with the same Fleur Corset, adding a structured waist to the fluid silhouette. Both are from AW/27 Defiant Renaissance.
Lace corsets and statement bodices
Lace gives corsetry a softer surface while keeping the bodice’s shape in view. Plume by Kristie 2027 collection's Josephine and Joy pair structured bodices with full skirts, while Julia layers a satin overskirt over a fitted, embellished silhouette. Ricca Sposa Couture’s lace gown and Soul Mates Bridal’s Le Jardin Couronné (from its FW27 collection) add floral texture and volume. WONÁ Atelier's Atelier Heritage Edition Carat shifts the palette entirely with a dramatic, all-black look.

Together, these designs show how corsetry can shape a wedding gown in different ways: through a defined waist, visible lace-up structure, a separate styling piece or a dramatic bodice. Fall 2027 brings that structure to lace, satin, full skirts and even an all-black bridal look.
