The Ruins sits nestled in Seattle's Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, and has a history of luxurious events, wild parties and maximalist décor. On its own, the venue is an eclectic and bold showcase of style, even featuring a life-size animatronic elephant that was originally built for the Paris World Exhibition in 1931. The event space is known for transporting guests to a different era and even world, and the cornerstone of the space is that "no idea is too crazy." For Corinne and Peter, it was the perfect venue to host their wedding and showcase their own personal style mixed in with the space's curated ambience.

Bright and bold is a style in weddings that is having a moment, and oftentimes the best part of these designs is the immense individuality couples are able to showcase to personalize their nuptials. For his day-of look, Peter embraced a color motif of the day: cobalt blue. His suit was accessorized with a more subtle bowtie featuring a dapper orange pattern. Corinne's gown featuring a plunging neckline and a mesh bodice leading with floral lace. She added in nods toward Peter's cobalt getup with bright blue nails and a pair of sparkly blue boots that were simply fabulous. Florals by Kinetic Botany played off the colors of the day and the venue, even featuring blue stems of greenery in our bride's bouquet. Softer shades of ivory and mauve were interwoven into reception and ceremony florals, which were a bright addition to the space.

An old-world glam infiltrated the reception design, which featured glitzy details and was framed by The Ruins' dramatic chandeliers. The space is a maximalist's dream, and keeping tablescapes simple allowed the art in the room to shine. Photo-ops from the day were vast, featuring spaces oozing antique allure at nearly every turn. The day was a perfect match for Corinne and Peter; it molded to their unique vision and they beautifully built off the natural ambience with vibrant décor. It is always refreshing to see couples embrace color in their weddings, and this eclectic and elegant take on a day-of design is a gorgeous example of that.
