THE COUPLE: Civil engineer Tim Gabelein and nurse Brianne Oiness are both discerning aesthetes (he loves antiquity, she loves bohemia). So, it was with a characteristic confidence that they both knew it was love after their first getaway to snow-covered Whistler in 2012; eight months later, they were engaged.
WELL-DESIGNED: Fans of architecture, Tim and Brianne canvassed Seattle before falling for The Rainier Club’s refined grandeur. Having fallen in love in the winter, they wanted their wedding to feel of that season: Elegant floral arrangements in a palette of emerald, ice and gold, spicy signature cocktails and a garland-draped hearth all helped evoke a sense of winter magic.
EAT & DRINK: Moscow mules in copper mugs were signature cocktails; harking back to the couple’s first getaway together. Tim and Brianne both grew up roasting marshmallows over an open fire—he on Whidbey Island, and she at a family cabin in Idaho—which they honored with a s’more-making bar in The Rainier Club’s oversize brick fireplace.
