“The night before I was actually angry with him,” jokes Bailey Fox, “because I was anxious to get engaged.” What Bailey didn’t know is that her love, Tanner Graden, had an elaborate plan already in place for the following day: He’d made dinner reservations at the Golf Club at Newcastle and after dinner, walked Bailey out to the golf course to take in the sunset. There, he got down on one knee. He’d hired a photographer to capture the moment, and the couple’s friends and family were already waiting at a bar nearby to celebrate their engagement.
“Even with over 100 people watching, it felt like just the two of us,” Bailey says of the pair’s vows on the big day. The bride and groom worked hard to write their own vows and were in tears as they delivered them. To top things off, the bride’s uncle served as their officiant. “He nailed it,” Bailey says. “The entire ceremony felt intimate and personal.”
The pair chose Fremont Foundry for its urban atmosphere and outdoor spaces, accenting both with dramatic dark greenery from Ravissant by Ravishing Radish. The food was tough to pick—“Everything we tasted was so delicious,” Bailey says—but the couple landed on beef short rib, chicken, orzo and roasted vegetables for a main course. The signature drinks, however, were easy. “Champagne is my signature,” Bailey states, while Tanner is a beer connoisseur, so the couple shared bubbly and Roger’s pilsner with guests at the reception.
From start to finish, Bailey and Tanner’s wedding was about family. The wedding took place on Tanner’s mother’s birthday, so the couple surprised her with a special cake and the birthday song at the reception. And for their send-off, Bailey’s father and uncle drove the couple home in a 1967 blue Mercedes convertible—the same one her sister had used at her own wedding.
