The design concept was simple: a stylish microwedding highlighting textural greenery, Amaranthus flowers and a rectangular cake. The result was pure enchantment. “Something different and fun is exactly what I was looking for in my upcoming wedding season,” says event stylist Mimi Nguyen of Gather with Mimi. She and photographer Myla Li of Myla Li Photos constructed a minimalistic and chic modern motif, focusing on bringing natural elements into the chosen industrial space. Manette Flower Co. ensured that the blooms of the day, including the floating installation above the ceremony space and the bride’s bouquet, matched the palette and the minimalist vibe of the design. For the reception, each piece of décor served the purpose of accenting the centerpiece: the lengthy dessert. “The jaw-dropping ribbed cake sprinkled with edible pearls and green hydrangea flowers was sitting on a 5-foot-long and 7-inch-wide wooden board,” says Nguyen. The tablescape came to life in the presence of the cake. Pears adorned with pearl pins, green grapes in coupe glasses and white candles featuring sheer bows dotted the tabletop, flanking the clusters of white and lime green Anthuriums. “The fruits made for a great, quick snack on the go,” explains Nguyen.
Minimalist beauty in a soothing palette inspired by the sweetest of fruits.
