The couple: For Natalie Hanley and Lamar Neagle, it began with a summer crush, but not their own. “We were 13, and my friend had a huge crush on his best friend,” explains Natalie, who is now a nurse at UW Medical Center. “I went with her to a party to lend moral support. But then I met Lamar.” Harboring a crush on Natalie for the next decade, Lamar, who plays midfield/forward for Seattle Sounders FC, found her on Facebook in 2010, asking her out for dinner, which was followed by many more, culminating in a candlelit proposal at the Columbia Tower Club on February 15, 2014.
Easy Elegance: The low-key couple was immediately drawn to the airy, light aesthetic of the Hollywood Schoolhouse, accenting its natural wood floors and brick walls on the big day with soft, romantic florals in cream and pink, and ethereal draped linens. A shabby-chic antique credenza was also ingeniously deployed as part of an attention-grabbing floral display for the ceremony, and then at the reception as a cake table, topped with carrot, red velvet and chocolate cakes and golden-kissed Love is Sweet signage.
