The Couple: The bride and groom met in college while working part-time at a restaurant in Federal Way. After dating for years, Chris proposed to his love at Purple Café and Wine Bar in Seattle, where he’d reserved a room at the top of the restaurant’s spiral staircase and filled it with candles.

The Car: Chris’ uncle loaned the couple a 1923 Ford Model T previously owned by the groom’s grandfather. It’s an essential for Ranch family weddings, so it made its way from Tacoma to Quincy through a dust storm and a mountain pass for the big day.

The Decor: Both families pitched in to make the day a success—Chris’ dad played the guitar as Olivia walked down the aisle, while the bride’s dad made the rustic marquee “Love” sign and the seating chart for the reception. Chris’ uncle officiated at the ceremony, and Olivia’s mom made monogrammed cookie favors. Bright red centerpieces composed of dahlias set atop sparkling table runners, plus the sequined table numbers and golden Chiavari chairs, made for an unmistakable sunset-inspired color palette.

The Heat: The ceremony took place just above the Columbia River Gorge in the middle of a dust storm and wildfire season, so the couple planned ahead and turned their programs into fans so guests could keep cool during the ceremony. Luckily for them, a slight breeze saved the day and the dust settled before the ceremony, making for an amazing sunset during the reception, which took place in the vineyard’s piazza under sparkly strands of café lights and delicate white drapery.
