THE COUPLE: After meeting for the first time, Lara Shepard and Heather Dixon knew they had found something special in one another. But with busy schedules—Lara is a pediatric nurse practitioner, and Heather works for Healthy Paws pet insurance—the pair initially kept missing each other, but Lara was persistent. “I mustered up my courage and reached out to Heather to try again,” she says. “It didn’t take us long to fall in love, and Heather proposed on my birthday at Salish Lodge.”
HOMESPUN CHARM: With Elemental Pizza providing hot pizza pies for dinner and bright spring florals highlighting the decor, the celebration exuded a fun, personalized atmosphere. A custom artwork made by Jordyluxe depicting the couple and their dog and two cats was the true star of the evening, and was used in several decor elements. “We had it on display and had it turned into stickers that sealed the package to our favors, homemade Rice Krispy treats,” Lara says. Patterned cloth napkins handmade by Heather’s mother and homemade ice cream sandwiches for dessert added to the lively tone of the evening.
