The Couple: When Kristen Tordillos, a science teacher at Seattle Preparatory School, first met mechanical engineer Keith Mowell before their senior year at Gonzaga University in 2009, she was instantly smitten, with the exception of one roadblock: Keith had never read the Harry Potter series. “When we first started dating, I couldn’t believe that he hadn’t read the books,” says super fan Kristen. “So I told him I wouldn’t go on another date until he had finished the series—which he promptly did!”
Mystical Allure: The warm October wedding day featured autumnal tones of plum and burnt orange, with the couple also including references to their courtship by incorporating fantastical elements reminiscent of Hogwarts: “Golden snitches” were made from Ferrero Rocher candies, table assignments came from the “sorting hat,” and the cake was topped with a pair of owls, all balanced by the classic Northwest stylings of Kiana Lodge.
