Mariners Fans Marry at AXIS Pioneer Square

Real Wedding

Meghan and Jarrett's quintessential downtown Seattle wedding is positiviely bursting with personality. The die hard Mariners fans started their day at Safeco Field, where they were greeted by several security guards who graciously allowed them to take photos inside their "home-away-from-home". During the ceremony, the couple made another Mariners memory when the team's mascot surprisingly made his way down the aisle. The rest of their big day was filled with pops of color, meaningful touches and sweet vintage details. If that's not "Seattle" enough for you, the couple even brewed and bottled their own beer to gift to guests.

From the bride:

"Jarrett and I were married April 11, 2015 at AXIS Pioneer Square. As Mariners season ticket holders, we chose to have our first look outside Safeco Field, as we consider Safeco our home away from home. The security guards working that day saw us taking our photos and offered to let us inside to take some more in the stands of the stadium. This also tied perfectly into my favorite moment of the wedding - When the officiant asked my husband-to-be to present the rings, he pretended he had lost them. Suddenly there was this loud stomping from the back of the venue and the Mariner Moose came running down the aisle with the rings! What a wonderful surprise for a Mariners fan!

Wanting to honor the venue's history as the former Elliot Bay Bookstore, we used old fashioned library borrowers cards as escort cards. The name of the table was the "title" of the book and each was named after a place or experience which was significant to our relationship. Each table's centerpiece incorporated elements representing its theme and was finished with a book we made with the "title" of the table and a story of why the table was named what it was.

We wanted our guests to explore every element of the wedding to share in our love story. We even displayed pictures of us growing up with little interesting facts for the guests to read. For the cake "cutting," we fed one another a mini pie from Pie in Fremont as a tribute to one of our date night staples. As a wedding favor, we brewed our own beer and labeled each bottle to match our invitation suite. Every element of the wedding tied together to create an over-all feeling of whimsy and love."
