Gina Baker and Michael Santiago’s wedding at the Fremont Foundry was a vibrant celebration of love, life and rhythm, with a deep bow to the groom’s Puerto Rican heritage. In a unique move, the festivities kicked off with a happy hour attended by the couple, giving them a chance to enjoy a few drinks with friends and family before exchanging vows. Their fiesta came to life with rich tropical colors and an abundance of palm trees to evoke a Caribbean atmosphere. The dinner menu featured a delectable selection of Puerto Rican inspired dishes, including savory empanadas and fried plantains, and was accompanied by a custom gin and tonic bar, a G&T being Gina and Michael’s favorite cocktail. The celebration also offered a wide range of entertainment options, such as a seven-piece salsa band and skilled salsa dance instructors who got everyone on the dance floor. In true Puerto Rican fashion, other diversions included a dominoes room and a rum tasting, not to mention the walls lined with colorful fedoras and flowers for the guests to don.
