Kaely and Michael's March wedding was anything but traditional. The pair said "I do" while standing on unconventional sides of the altar to display their good sides and celebrated with cookies from Hello Robin Cookies instead of cake. Complemented with light greens, grays, dusty blue and gold geometric details, their minimalist aesthetic was reflected in the exposed brick and industrial vibes at AXIS Pioneer Square. "The flow was one of the most important aspects of finding the right venue, and AXIS had the perfect floorplan for exactly how we imagined the flow should be," Kaely said.
The couple stayed true to their vision of wanting to do what felt right, not expected. Kaely and Michael locked hands and exchanged heart-felt letters during their first look at the nearby Good Bar. Together, they wrote their vows, keeping them short, but full of emotion. "I dread public speaking, but when I stood up there to say my vows, it was as if nobody else was in the room. Nobody, including myself, expected Michael to tear up and barely make it through his vows."
Family and friends gathered at the couple's reception to dance the night away under twinkling lights.

"Leading up to the day was full of nerves and anxiety, not about marrying each other, but about a year's worth of planning becoming a reality. I was also dreading a whole day focused around me. Once the day came and I saw Michael for the first time, a calmness overtook me. I never had a doubt about marrying this man, but now I also wasn’t worried about how the day would go, because then and there I realized that as long as this day ended with me marrying Michael, nothing else mattered.
[We] decided not to draw attention to any “cookie cutting”, but to just pull Joe [Tobiason], the photographer, aside for a quick moment shared with just us. We spontaneously freestyled during our first dance and combined the father/daughter and mother/son dances. We also capped off the night by having Dick’s Drive-In delivered for a late night snack. We opted out of a send-off since we were going to go out to the bars with anyone wanting to keep the party going. Not to say everything in our wedding was unique, but it was a day full of what we felt was important: good food/drinks, a great party, and mostly a day full of celebrating the love we have and the commitment we made."
