This sweet vow renewal at Seattle's Discovery Park has stolen our hearts! Ben and Shannon were gifted an incredible four-year renewal shoot by a group of Seattle wedding vendors that beautifully captured their relationship. Rain poured down as the couple recited their vows, giving the day a perfectly memorable PNW moment. Ben and Shannon wrote their own vows in lovely vow books from Flourish Book Co. and celebrated the occasion with an outdoor picnic crafted by planner and stylist 3eleven Events. The shoot was perfect from beginning to end, despite the rain and roadbumps along the way. Hear more from both the photographer and the couple below!
From Tatiana Mease of Rosemary & Pine Photography:
"I wanted to create an intimate and moving experience for Ben and Shannon as they poured the last four years of their hearts out to one another during their vow renewal. They were chosen out of a dozen Pacific Northwest couples to renew their vows during a beautifully designed experience by a team of talented vendors. The day unfolded in such a beautiful setting with many meaningful words spoken.
Ben and Shannon wore their Levi's jackets over their attire and it completely tugged at my heart because it was so them! Shannon wore “Luna,” a beautiful gown designed by Jessica of Hyacinth Bridal in the Midwest. Paired with her Hunter boots (because it’s Seattle!) and a wide brim hat so beautifully designed with florals by Petals by Piper, she looked effortlessly romantic and wild all at once. The only thing that could make her look more complete was her husband Ben standing next to her. Ben wore a black and white arrangement of attire paired with H&M leather shoes and a pop of color on his boutonniere. The two together were magic.
My favorite part of the entire day was seeing just how wildly in love two people can be. Ben and Shannon were so thankful to experience such a sweet reminder of what love is during their fourth year together. Even when we were all running to the car during the torrential downpour, you could see so much love on their faces despite being soaked to the bone. These two can teach everyone so much about letting love grow in such raw and unexpected ways. And also that a little rain doesn’t dampen love. I’d say a muddy hemline means a happy bride in Shannon’s case."
From the couple:
“Tatiana and her husband were both so welcoming from start to finish. They made both Ben and I feel super comfortable and included the both of us instead of just focusing on one or the other. The whole shoot was so much fun and even though it was freezing and POURING, we kinda didn’t even notice. It was like those scenes in movies where people are soaked in a second and you think, ’that doesn’t even happen.’ Oh, it happens!
Tatiana made it so easy to just enjoy our time and love on each other while getting AMAZING photos. We didn’t feel nervous or weird in front of the camera, which says a lot coming from a fellow photographer used to being behind the lens. Then came the vow renewal. Even as I write these words I tear up at just how special and needed this day was for us. This vow renewal came at the perfect time in our marriage. It was so healing and refreshing to be able to remind each other of our love and commitment and to remind ourselves why we're doing this crazy thing called marriage. Marriage is hard work but so worth it, so it was such great experience to acknowledge and celebrate where we’ve been and get excited for where we’re going! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Rosemary & Pine and all the other vendors who made this day so incredible. We will remember it forever!”
