Nicolle Wambold & David Mattingly
Married and celebrated: The Olson Mansion in Maple Valley
Date: July 9, 2016
THE COUPLE: Analyst David Mattingly and Nicolle Wambold, who works in education administration, were high school acquaintances who finally added the “sweetheart” title after reconnecting two years ago and bonding over their love of dogs. Just 10 months later, David proposed to Nicolle at the end of a hike atop picturesque Lightning Peak on the Olympic Peninsula.
LOVE NOTES: Nicolle loves great food, after growing up in her parent’s restaurants, while David loves music, so the Puyallup-based pair fused both of these passions into their rustic yet refined celebration at The Olson Mansion. After a gorgeous ceremony under an outdoor tent (where guests showered the pair’s exit with lavender, doled out in cones crafted from sheet music), the party moved into the barn, where the couple served ahi tacos, steak crostini and watermelon feta mint caprese appetizers before David surprised Nicolle by performing a love song on the guitar. A trio of icebox cakes for dessert and darling honey favors provided a sweet ending to the day.
