It’s no secret that love, is, all we really need to keep us warm. When Liz Merrill and Brian O’Dell set out to plan their elopement, they opted for sentiment, first: February 22nd is the bride’s grandparent’s and great-grandparent's wedding anniversary. Celebration, of course, came next. After prepping for the day (and toasting to love with the bride’s sisters) at home, the couple ventured to Lock & Keel Tavern in Ballard, where they first met through mutual friends in 2010, for photos, then to Discovery Park to exchange vows. A close friend officiated. Two separate looks, worn by the bride, and statement florals in bold, saturated hues, set the stage against the gray backdrop of a Seattle winter day. Thoughtful details kept family close, even if not in attendance – Liz's vintage fur was a gift from her mother on her 16th birthday, and her veil a 1970s vintage find worn by a close family friend on her wedding day. The bride wore her grandmother’s rosary on her bouquet, proving that the smallest details (and celebrations) can often mean the most.
