Sun Mountain Lodge has a storied history, dating back to its founding in 1968 by Jack Barron. The lodge's spectacular dining room, designed by renowned Pacific Northwest architect Roland Terry, immediately set the stage for a unique and memorable destination. In 1987, the Haub family of Germany acquired Sun Mountain Lodge, injecting new life and vision into the property. The lodge underwent significant expansion, leading to the opening of the new Lodge in 1990. This expansion included a full-service spa, exercise room, recreation center, gift shop, library, and updated guest rooms, enriching the guest experience.

Sun Mountain Lodge has 112 guest rooms with a variety of room types: cozy cabins on a private beach at Patterson Lake, standard guest rooms in the main lodge and luxury accommodations featuring private patios and jetted tubs.
