A Weekend Getaway : Semiahmoo Bay Wedding

THE COUPLE:
Kendall Whittlesey and Nick Hemphill met while attending Washington State University, where they were set up by friends for a fraternity formal. They quickly realized they shared many similar interests and values, and began dating shortly after. Upon graduation, the couple moved back to the Seattle area and Kendall began her work with foster kids, while Nick started his career as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch. After five years of dating, Nick surprised Kendall when he proposed in the middle of their favorite sushi restaurant. 

THE WEDDING: 
When planning their wedding, the couple wanted to provide a weekend getaway for their friends and family to relax and enjoy the celebrations together. Nick  had grown up golfing at Semiahmoo with his family, so it was a natural choice for the venue.  Kendall and Nick welcomed their guests to the resort with a bon fire on the beach on Friday evening, exchanged vows in their Saturday ceremony on the dock overlooking Semiahmoo Bay, and hosted a farewell brunch on Sunday before guests drove home.
