“I really leaned into the oyster theme and used it as inspiration to guide the centerpieces and color palette for the shoot,” says Rissa Ho of Sahomie & Co.

That vision flourished through thoughtful, layered details that brought a fresh, coastal elegance to the styled shoot. Artful oyster elements of the design included hand-cleaned shells repurposed into candles and place card holders, debossed invitation cards sealed with wax imprints of shells, a pearl-adorned veil, a textured cake reminiscent of ocean surfaces, and sculptural pillar candles for added dimension and drama.

The floral design was another standout component of the day. While the palette embraced classic coastal tones—soft blues and sandy neutrals—it also drew inspiration from abalone shells, which were creatively used as vessels for the centerpieces. The arrangements were loose, organic and full of movement—flowy, playful and textured—bringing a natural yet elevated feel to the entire setting.

“There were so many small details that made this shoot truly special,” says Ho. “From the incredible vendor team who brought my ideas to life, to the unexpected treat of live oyster shucking on-site, it was a beautiful reminder of how rewarding it can be to fully commit to a theme. With the right creative approach, you can capture its essence in a way that feels both intentional and refined.”
