Looking for a way to add a little vintage fun to your wedding-day transportation needs, décor or honeymoon adventures? Enter Peace Vans Rentals, a Seattle-based company started by entrepreneur Harley Sitner. The local company just announced its fleet for the coming year, which includes the nation’s first all-electric vintage 1977 Volkswagen van, lovingly dubbed “Frieda,” available to rent for in-city, multiday adventures. “Each season, we learn more about what will create the most authentic yet simple road-trip adventure for our customers, which allows us to customize our offerings and experiences,” says Sitner. “This year, it’s all about increasing our Mercedes Metris, coined ‘modern’ options; maintaining our vintage Volkswagen Vanagons; and—possibly our most innovative offering to date—the nation’s first all-electric Volkswagen bus available to rent.”
For a custom look that’s easy to take on the road, each vintage Peace Vans vehicle receives at least $25,000 in upgrades and restoration work. Each van—modern and vintage—is also outfitted with treasured Seattle finds and hand-picked camping accessories from leading brands, including Radial Coffee Roasters custom-roasted coffee, Firefly Kitchens flavored salts and Rumpl blankets. Rentals range from $185 a night from October through April, to $255 a night from May through September. The electric Volkswagen van starts at $295 per day.
