When Steve and Kathryn's wedding landed in our inbox, we swore we'd seen it before. No, not in another publication, or a previous submission. There's just something so nostalgically familiar and utterly romantic about this intimate castle celebration with its abundance of antique roses, flickering candles, glistening crystal and grand gardens. The ambience harkens memories of old storybooks and childhood tales of royalty and magic, where all live happily ever after. And to think they pulled this off in just a few short weeks!

"Being invited to document any couples day is an incredible honor, but when you are standing in a room surrounded by a quaint group of loved ones witnessing two families become one, it sometimes takes your breath away. When I first met Steve and Kathryn, they had every intention of eloping across the mountains, but as time went on, life created reasons to stay close to home and closer to family. They choose to hold an intimate wedding mid-week at the stunning Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, WA. With only a few weeks to organize the day, I was thrilled to offer my hand in the design of the affair. We wanted to give the illusion of a indoor garden party, mixing antique glassware with wild flora and rusty blush roses, hundreds of candles lit every room of the castle, and we had just enough break in the PNW rain to allow us to walk the grounds for portraits. The only music of the day was one violin mixed with the laughter of the couple's children running throughout the halls."
