Matti & Clint Gresham: Romantic Wedding at Sodo Park

Real Wedding

When Seattle Seahawks long snapper Clint Gresham and his wife Matti, both Texas-natives, got engaged they knew they wanted to host their friends and family in the Emerald City they've come to know and love. While Matti always envisioned being married outdoors on a sunny summer day, Clint's football schedule made that virtually impossible. Instead, the couple decided to say "I do" in the off-season, and along with Kaleb Norman James Design, they brought the outdoors in with lots of lush greenery, plenty of lanterns and pops of pretty flowers. The bride and groom's goal was for their Seattle soirée to be "romantic and rustic, while still being classy and traditional." This indoor garden party was certainly all that and more.

As if the photos, taken by Meghan Klein Photography, don't say enough about this sweet couple, this little tidbit certainly does: Clint, unbeknownst to his bride, surprised all of the bridesmaids with personalized Tiffany necklaces and heartfelt letters of thanks. It really doesn't get much sweeter than that.

From Matti Gresham:

"The entire day, especially the ceremony, felt like it had magic dust on it. I honestly didn't expect that. I knew it would be amazing, but it really was just a magical day. We wanted to keep everything intimate and intentional and we wanted the gospel of Jesus to be shared in a tangible, relatable way during the ceremony. Having our families and friends from different years of our lives was so special to us because we love them so dearly. Both of us are from Texas and met in Seattle, so many of our guests came from out of town, which meant a lot to us.

I had always wanted to get married outside in the summer time, but football season didn't allow us that possibility. So, because we had to get married in the off-season, we would have to bring it indoors. I told my floral designer and friend that I wanted to "bring the outdoors in" and he did such a fantastic job. Most of the vendors we used were close friends of ours, as we wanted to keep it as intimate as possible. Clint and I both love succulents, and we loved the idea of having just an overgrowth of all things green, so we used that as our palette for the entire wedding. We wanted to keep it romantic and rustic while still being classy and traditional.

After the ceremony, we had the best dance party of our lives. We sang karaoke to the Backstreet Boys during the middle of it and it was hilarious. Add a little crowd surfing, a lot of Beyonce, and some delicious donuts, and we were on Cloud 9. It ended all too soon as we wanted to keep dancing and talking and hugging our loved ones for a whole week. It was a day we will truly never forget."
