What could be more picturesque than a meet-cute in Hawaii? Over tasty "Aviation" cocktails, Andrew and Daniel felt a spark that they kindled into a loving relationship. After their engagement, the grooms chose the Seattle Aquarium as their venue — a nod to the tropical locale where they first met. They held their ceremony on the pier behind their venue, which offered sweeping views of the Pacific. Groomsmaids in pale green carried bouquets of white blooms, palm fronds and philodendron leaves while groomsmen skipped the suit jackets, all representing a warmer climate.
In a personal twist on a sand ceremony, the pair combined ingredients to create the perfect "Aviation" drink to symbolize their lives intertwining in marriage. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a one-of-a-kind cocktail hour inside the aquarium — they wandered through the tanks, admiring everything from jellyfish to a private otter feeding. Reception tables were bedecked in white and green, including the stunning tropical centerpieces — all arranged by groom Andrew's sister. The space was backdropped with a massive (and active) tank, as well as wave-inspired wall décor that displayed waves of rainbow colors to represent the LGBTQ+ community.
The new Mr. and Mr. performed their grand entrance sporting Hawaiian Maile Leis, which they draped across their sweetheart table. After everyone had enjoyed their main courses, the dancing commenced. While the almost-customary Seattle rain fell outside, the newlyweds grooved the night away with their nearest and dearest.
