Married and celebrated: Magnuson Park Hangar 30 in Sand Point

PROPOSAL: When marketing director Lauren Tilden and technical program manager Kate Ciurej decided they were ready to get married, they ordered their rings together on the same night, agreeing that whoever received the ring first would propose to the other. Lauren received Kate’s ring first and planned a night out for cocktails and dinner at their favorite restaurant Machiavelli. Meanwhile, Lauren’s family was back at the couple’s house setting up dessert and flowers for the proposal, which took place once they returned.
A CHEERFUL CELEBRATION: The couple transformed the historic airplane hangar for the reception in a nod to Lauren’s family’s deep ties to aviation and out of respect for the couple’s grandfathers who served in World War II. Their union was filled with gorgeous, bright colors and plenty of precious moments. Guests dined family style on steak and wild salmon grilled on site along with mouthwatering sides and salads. The pair danced to throwback music from their college days before ending the night encircled by friends and family for a sing-along version of “Totally Eclipse of the Heart.”
